 Software

TNOS (ZGTCP:9A0TCP)
Among various *NOS software flavours, we've decided to use Linux version of TNOS (short for Tampa Network Operating System), developed and maintained by Brian A. Lantz (KO4KS). TNOS deals with encapsulated AMPRNet routing, world-wide ham conference, basic PR-mail forwarding and ham radio oriented mailing lists.
TNOS is accessible as callsign 9A0TCP on PR network, 9a0tcp.ampr.org on AMPRNet and ham1.cc.fer.hr on the Internet. Every licensed amateur radio operator may gain telnet access to our TNOS system. To get login/password for telnet access, if you are 9A operator connect 9A0TCP from PR network, enter "Info server" with I command, choose "For local users" and fill in the form "Automatski upis korisnika". Otherwise, if you are not a 9A operator, mail a request to the sysop.
TNOS also acts as SMTP and POP3 server. All licensed amateur radio operators can use 9a0tcp as mail server. If you use 9A0TCP TNOS system as your mail server, your e-mail address will be callsign@9a0tcp.ampr.org. If you want to be able to fetch your mail using POP3 protocol, and you are 9A operator, connect 9A0TCP from PR network, enter "Info server" with I command, choose "For local users" and fill in the form "Upis podataka za POP3 server". Otherwise if you are not 9A operator write an e-mail to the sysop. You can use 9A0TCP as SMTP server only if you are from AMPRNet or you are sending mail to AMPRNet.
9A0TCP is also subscribed to several ham related mailing lists, which you can read when connected. Mailing to such mailing lists is also allowed.
This system is also a part of amateur radio WW conference. Channel 170 is dedicated to local 9A users and conversation on this channel is in croatian language.
9A0TCP also acts as IP encapsulation gateway for Croatian part (44.170/16) of AMPRNet (44/8).
Available ZGTCP:9A0TCP information: Current users, Today users, BBS statistics, AX.25 connections, TNOS info, AX.25 heard callsigns, Netrom connections, Netrom nodes, Conference users

Linux server (ham2.cc.fer.hr)
We have chosen Linux as operating system for running our amateur radio services. Thanks to many hams, Linux has a great support for AX.25 protocol and there are many utilities and applications dedicated to hams.
Our linux serves as encapsulation gateway and an entry point to IP network using AX.25 protocol. All licensed 9A operators may use this system for access to IP networks (AMPRNet or Internet). There are several software packages for IP to AX.25 encapsulation such as Flexnet (for Windows). Linux kernel has a built-in support for IP to AX.25 encapsulation (read linux AX25-HOWTO for details).
For IP-over-AX.25 encapsulation through this AMPRNet gateway you will need an IP address in 44.170/16 subnet. If you are a licensed 9A operator you can request an IP address from current 44.170/16 IP coordinator Tihomir Heidelberg, 9a4gl@9a0tcp.ampr.org, just send him your callsign, name, surname, town and call area number.
Our linux is also handling several AXIP links (AX.25 over IP), which makes possible to connect PR networks (amateur networks based on AX.25 protocol) over Internet.
This system is also running squid proxy server accessible from Croatian part of AMPRNet (44.170/16) at port 8080 which handles ftp and http requests to AMPRNet and Internet for 9A licensed hams. Also, we are running socks5 proxy at port 1080. There is also a caching DNS and some other services running.
ham2.cc.fer.hr server is also serving personal homepages for croatian licensed hams, and the contents of those pages tends to be amateur radio orineted. If you are licensed 9A operator and you want to have your homepage here, send an e-mail to sysop and request a linux user account with web and ftp space. The owners of linux user accounts must behave according to hamspirit and strictly according to CARNet (Croatian Academic and Research Network) rules when using the system.
